What are the two ways of innovation?
1. Imitation: To improve and optimize existing things or concepts through imitation. This innovative way is usually to improve performance, reduce cost or improve efficiency by introducing new designs, functions or manufacturing methods on the basis of discovering the defects or deficiencies of existing products. For example, many modern technology products are developed on the basis of imitating the biological structure and function of nature.
2. Creation: Creating unprecedented things or concepts through brand-new thinking and exploration. This innovative way requires a lot of knowledge, skills and imagination, and usually involves the intersection and integration of many fields. For example, many scientific discoveries and technological breakthroughs are based on re-examination and expansion of existing knowledge, and breakthroughs and innovations are achieved by putting forward new theories, methods and frameworks.
It should be noted that these two aspects are not independent of each other, but promote and influence each other in the process of innovation. At the same time, innovation is not limited to these two aspects, but also includes other ways such as iteration and collaboration.
