The development history of the exhibition
The ancient fairs in China originated from religious gatherings. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty (BC 1 100 ~ BC 77 1 year), there was a ancestral hall meeting in Fengshan, Shaanxi Province, which was held once a year for three days.
During the Yuan Dynasty (127 1 ~ 1368), there were more than 30 markets in the Yuan Dynasty (now Beijing), and now the Bell and Drum Tower area in Beijing is the bustling market location of the Yuan Dynasty.
During the Ming Dynasty (1368— 1644), the market in Beijing was still prosperous. Chenghuang Temple, Long Fu Temple, Huguo Temple and Baiyun Temple are regular temple fairs. Tea-horse market, a state-controlled horse market, also traded with northern nomads in the Ming Dynasty.
In Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Baita Temple, Long Fu Temple and Huguo Temple were three famous temple fairs in Beijing. In the Qing Dynasty, on the basis of traditional fairs, some professional fairs with national scale were gradually developed, such as rice markets in Wuxi and Wuhu, and the most typical one was the drug market in Anguo, Hebei Province, which was held twice in spring and autumn. As a professional medicinal materials market, An Sinopharm Society has initially possessed the form and content of a modern professional exposition.
In the late Qing Dynasty, with the development of capitalist commodity economy, China's early expositions appeared.
1905, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Qing Dynasty set up the "Shi Jing Quanye Exhibition Hall" in front of Beijing to display industrial products from all over the country, and at the same time attached Quanye Shopping Mall to sell goods. This is the embryonic form of China Expo. 、
During the period of 1909, Jiangsu Education Association held an exhibition of school achievements in Shanghai, which was the first exhibition named after the exhibition in China.
19 10, the Qing court held the Nanyang persuasion meeting in Nanjing, which opened the first page of China's modern exhibition history. Nanyang Quanye Association is the first commercial exposition with modern exhibition concept in the history of China. The conference is divided into provincial, textile, tea, craft, military equipment and other museums. The conference lasted for three months and the audience exceeded 200,000.
19 12, the Beijing government changed the Qing court exhibition hall at Qianmen into a commodity exhibition hall, and later changed it into a business hall, gradually turning the earliest exhibition hall in China into a shopping center.
192 1 In August, the commodity exhibition hall of Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce was established, and exhibits were collected in June and July every year, and an exhibition was held every autumn.
1922 10, Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce held the China Cocoon and Silk Expo in Shanghai for the first time.
1925, held in Wuhan.
1928, Sichuan Chinese Goods Exhibition was held.
1929, West Lake Expo was held. West Lake Expo is an unprecedented exhibition event in the history of China (since 2000, West Lake Expo has been held once a year in Hangzhou).
1935 held an exhibition of articles from southwest provinces.
1936, held a joint exhibition of Zhejiang and Jiangxi specialties.
1944, the northeast puppet Manchukuo government held Harbin Expo.
From the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC) (1949) to the early 1980s, exhibitions in China were mainly undertaken by the government. In the late 1980s, China's convention and exhibition industry gradually developed, especially after nearly 20 years of rapid development, and it has become an important emerging industry in the national economy.
With the development of modern science and technology, especially information technology, the organization means and forms of exhibitions are constantly changing. For example, online exhibitions have developed rapidly in recent years and have become an effective supplement to physical exhibitions. During the SARS in 2003, they were favored by many exhibitors and traders.
