What is the difference between scientific behaviorism and traditionalism?
Scientific behaviorism: it advocates that in the theoretical study of international relations, not only traditional methods of politics and history should be used, but also methods of applied social science and natural science should be used. Behaviorism takes "science" as its concept orientation and is characterized by "data, measurement, demonstration and accuracy", which has produced some new research methods, such as overall research (category analysis, pattern analysis, system analysis, hierarchical analysis, structural and functional analysis), strategy research (game analysis, decision analysis, communication theory and cybernetics) and econometric research (statistical analysis, mathematical analysis, etc.).
Traditionalism: Compared with behaviorism, idealism and realism are called "traditionalism" or "classic theory", which emphasizes the fundamental role of traditional research methods such as philosophy, law, history and ethics in the theory of international relations.
