What are the beta blockers?

Beta blockers can be divided into three categories:

1, non-selective β receptor blocker, blocking β 1 and β2 receptor at the same time, such as propranolol;

2. Selective β blockers have little or no effect on β2 receptors, such as bisoprolol;

3. Blocking α 1 and β receptors, such as carvedilol.

20 15 "guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction" points out that if there are no contraindications, β -blockers should be routinely used within 24 hours and used for a long time (ⅰ, b). 20 12 American AHA guidelines for stable coronary heart disease suggest that patients with heart failure (ⅰ, a), post-myocardial infarction and angina pectoris (ⅰ, b) should use β -blockers and patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease should choose ACEI or β -blockers for antihypertensive treatment.

Extended data

Beta blockers are a kind of drugs that can selectively bind to beta adrenergic receptors, thus antagonizing the excitatory effects of neurotransmitters and catecholamine on beta adrenergic receptors. Adrenaline receptors are distributed on the effector cell membrane dominated by most sympathetic postganglionic fibers, and their receptors are divided into three types.

Excitement can cause increase of heart rate and myocardial contractility, bronchiectasis, vasodilation, relaxation of visceral smooth muscle and lipolysis. These effects can be blocked and antagonized by beta blockers.
