The exporter can negotiate with the shipping company to select the port where the unloading will take place (referring to the two ports mentioned above that have different ways of charging unloading fees).

Even so, to address these practical differences, a CFR terminology variant that designates responsibility for unloading charges has been derived. "CFR landed" specifies that the cost of unloading is to be borne by the exporter; "CFR undischarged" the cost of unloading is to be borne by the importer.
