Urgent! ! What are the hot issues in forestry economic research at present?

I am now in the School of Economics and Management of the best forestry university in China (I say so, you should know which one). The doctor's degree in forestry economic management is a national first-class discipline, so I still know a lot about it.

This major is not an applied subject. I have investigated projects such as returning farmland to forests, forest right reform and participatory forestry all over the country. I feel that the actual problems of forestry economic system can not be learned through learning, and the actual situation is often very complicated. Even a doctor of forestry economic management can't solve the forestry problems of a village and a township.

So far, there is no independent theory of forestry economic management, that is, all theories are institutional economics, industrial economics, forestry and so on. The graduate students in our school say that forestry economic management does not need a doctor's degree at all, just like oil economic management, textile economic management and aquatic economic management do not need it.

I think the employment of forestry economic management is definitely not good, but from an academic point of view, it is still developing. For example, the theory of international trade was studied by foreigners 100 years ago, but the marginal subject of forestry economic management was rarely studied. For example, the participatory forestry I am studying now is inconclusive, and it is easier to apply for research funds and research projects.
