What is probiotic food?

Food containing active microorganisms beneficial to human body.

"Probiotics", also known as microecological regulators, ecological products and live microbial preparations, refer to live microbial preparations that can promote the ecological balance of intestinal flora and play a beneficial role in the host. For example, yogurt, cheese, red wine and pickles are all foods containing or beneficial to probiotics.

Physiological effects of probiotics:

1, inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria. Probiotics can produce lactic acid and acetic acid, have bactericidal effect, and can resist a variety of intestinal pathogens, such as Salmonella typhi, Clostridium difficile, Campylobacter jejuni, Escherichia coli, Shigella and so on. There are also some probiotics that can produce antibiotics and have antagonistic effects on bacteria.

2. Adjust and improve the intestinal flora. Intestinal flora plays an important role in human health. When probiotics are dominant in the intestine, the immune ability of the body is enhanced, which is of great significance for maintaining health, preventing diseases and delaying aging.

3. Adjust the immune system. Probiotics can protect the host from intestinal pathogens by enhancing its specific and non-specific immunity. Its function of enhancing system immunity may be caused by the activity of macrophages and lymphocytes.
