What are the benefits of forging?

1. Improve the internal structure and mechanical properties of forgings. After forging, the microstructure and properties of the forging blank are improved. Forging can eliminate defects such as porosity, shrinkage cavity and dendrite in metal ingot, and because of plastic deformation and recrystallization of metal, coarse grains can be refined and dense metal structure can be obtained, thus improving the mechanical properties of forgings. In the design of parts, the impact resistance of parts can be improved by correctly selecting the stress direction and fiber structure direction of parts.

2. The material utilization rate is high. Metal plastic forming mainly depends on the rearrangement of the relative position of the body and structure of the metal, without removing the metal.

3. Higher productivity. Forging is usually carried out by using a press and a forging hammer.

6. It is not suitable for forming forgings with complex shapes. Forging is formed in solid state.
