What are the critical theories of postmodernism

Postmodernism is primarily anti-traditional.

1, against the various conventions that define or regulate its isms.

2. Against essentialism. Not to consider the essence of art, to erase the boundaries between art and non-art, and even assert that "art is dead".

3. Opposition to a particular approach. That is, against inheriting the inherent or established ideas.

4. Opposition to global styles in architecture. It has given rise to bold creations by different architects, developing postmodern-style architectural programs that are both unique and diverse. However, the works lacked humanistic concerns.

5. Oppose unified morality. But not to deny the truth, but to set up the possibility that there are many truths, from the personal point of view, situational, cultural, political, and even sexual point of view.

6. Against coherent, authoritative, and definitive interpretations (including of the Bible, and other faith pronouncements). Individual experiences, backgrounds, wills, and preferences take precedence over knowledge, life, culture, and sexuality.

7. Criticize systems of rights and beliefs. Argues that political partisan alliances are based on short-term interests rather than long-term loyalties; that beliefs are good or bad based on personal experience of them. It makes people's minds no longer bound to social ideals, the meaning of life, the future of the country, traditional morality and so on, thus leading to a complete liberation of the human mind and a deeper understanding of the self.

8. Denial of the value of truth and progress. It has led to the emergence of value relativism, skepticism and value nihilism, but it has also made people realize the relativity and plurality of values.
