Story:

Some centuries after the end of the Civil War on the planet Cybertron, the Autobots (Autobot) and Decepticons (Decepticon) have evolved into the Maximal and Predacon, respectively. A Predacon general with the same name as the Decepticon leader, Megatron, and five other members of the Predacons steal the golden disk that points to the location of the main energy source.

And piloting a spaceship (the Dark Starship) to follow the message on the disk, Megatron uses a hyperspace jump to travel to the disk's designated location. Megatron hopes to have enough energy to enable the Primal Beasts to dominate the universe, and the Mega-Mega Science Exploration Team, led by Optimus Primal, is ordered to intercept it.
