Scope of application of mixed strategy

Many times, enterprises do not necessarily adopt a single strategy, such as pure stability strategy, growth strategy or contraction strategy, but a mixture of various strategies, which is called mixed strategy.

It should be noted that the environment faced by enterprises is increasingly complex and changeable, and the strategy will generally last for a long time, so the flexibility, initiative and adaptability of enterprise management are more important. A single strategy will often face challenges from the environment and may eventually be unable to adapt.

Generally speaking, the mixed strategy is generally applicable to the following situations:

1. Large-scale enterprises or enterprises with more product lines may have more business units and operate across industries, and adopt growth strategies for some products and contraction strategies for some products;

2. Enterprises with a wide market may face different specific situations in different markets, so different strategies are adopted according to different markets, some may become stronger and bigger, and some may shrink;

3. Enterprises with rapid technological progress, such as enterprises with leading technologies, have rapidly updated their products. In order to promote their own strong products or keep a greater distance from competitors, they often implement different strategies or suppress products with different life cycles. For example, after Intel launched Pentium 4, it adopted the strategy of gradually shrinking Pentium 3 series products;

4. Enterprises with limited strength may also adopt mixed strategies. While devoting themselves to the rapid growth of business and performance, they may make some strategic preparations to lay a good foundation for the future;

5. Enterprises are in different development periods, and adopt different strategic models appropriately, such as the sequential strategic combination of "growth-stability-growth-stability-contraction adjustment-growth-stability" from the initial stage to the growth stage.
