Can tooth decay be filled?
Cavities can certainly be filled, and it is recommended that they be repaired as early as possible, as early cavities can have a very good clinical outcome simply by being filled. Cavities, also known as tooth decay, professionally known as dental caries, is due to bacterial invasion of the hard tissues of the teeth caused by corruption, disintegration of the disease. For tooth decay, medication is definitely not able to remove the root cause because bacteria already exist in the hard tissues of the decayed tooth, and the decayed part of the tooth must be removed by means of turbo-drilling in order for the disease to be cured at its root. For early to mid-stage caries, the clinical results can be very good by simply removing the decay and filling the cavity. However, once the decay has progressed to the pulp, causing symptoms of pulpitis, further root canal treatment of the tooth is required, followed by a crown restoration to protect the decayed tooth.
