The core idea of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism

1. The core idea of Confucianism is the idea of "five elements" of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and saintliness. As far as the society is concerned, it is the idea of virtue, i.e., fraternity, generosity, fairness, justice, honesty, trustworthiness, reform, renewal, civilization, harmony, democracy, rule of law, etc., which is the cornerstone of the core values of our society.

The main features of Confucianism:

(1) Ancestral references to Yao and Shun, and charters to Tang and Wu, honoring the way of the late kings.

(2) It honors etiquette, i.e., it focuses on maintaining the hierarchical order of superiority and inferiority.

(3) Emphasize the role of ethics and morality in politics.

(4) Honor Confucius.

2. The core idea of Taoism is "Tao". Taoists believe that "Tao" is the origin of the universe and the law that governs all movements in the universe. "Tao" and the relationship between all things, in terms of static, "Tao" is all people, things *** with the ultimate guarantee of existence, is the highest value, is the ultimate value of the root. Dynamically speaking, the Tao is the construction of order and its driving force, is the "creation" or "creation force", is the realization of the principle that enables all things to be born, continuity, transformation and development.

The main characteristics of Taoism:

(1) It has retained a large number of folk beliefs and practices, and its religious theories and beliefs are closely adapted to China's traditional culture and living customs.

(2) It has retained the natural religious elements of its history, and it also has a number of superstitious elements.

(3) Its religious content and preaching organization include several levels of Taoism, fairy arts and exorcism of ghosts and cures for people.

(4) With immortality as the goal of belief and the cultivation of life as a practical benefit, it is a religion that emphasizes both immediate benefits and long-term pursuits, which is very much in line with Chinese traditions.

3. The core ideas of the Scholarly School are precepts, meditation and wisdom. From the precepts comes meditation, and from meditation comes wisdom. Bird's nest Zen master to these three words in a simple and easy to understand form into sixteen words of verse: all evil, all good deeds, self-purification of their own will, is the Buddhism.

The main characteristics of Buddhism:

(1) Belief in cause and effect. The three words "cause, cause, and effect", which are found throughout the twelve classics of the Tripitaka, are the center of Buddhism.

(2) The idea that all beings are equal. All living beings are equal and appear differently only because of different karma, and they are all born of karma.

(3) The idea of centrifugation and the practice of liberation.

(4) Develop the bodhicitta mind and practice the Bodhisattva path. Bodhicitta is the vast mind, both wisdom and compassion.
