As a brand-new event, the Asian Games Journey has been inseparable from the Hangzhou Asian Games since its birth.

In November 2021, less than a year after e-sports was confirmed as an official event of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the OCA and the AEC*** launched a brand new tournament, the Asian Games Journey, at the OCA Plenary Assembly in Dubai.

The Asian Games Journey, as the name suggests, has something to do with the road to the Asian Games - and ADF President Huo Qigang has accurately described the tournament, positioning it as a ranking tournament ahead of the Asian Games.

To draw an analogy, traditional sports such as soccer and basketball have their own qualifiers before entering the final rounds of large-scale comprehensive games, and the current Asian Games journey is assuming a similar role in the Asian Games esports system.
