On this day, 2008 has basically passed, followed by the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first month. After the Lantern Festival, 2008 has come to an end.
In China, people call the 14th day of the first month the birthday of "Mother of Waterfront" (also known as "Mother of Shuntian"). Legend has it that the water queen, surnamed Chen, was born in Dali of the Tang Dynasty, and later became an immortal to save dystocia women.
