What's the difference between Harmony, intercity train and bullet train?
High-speed rail, bullet train, city rail and subway
In China, according to the speed difference of EMU, it is divided into G-prefix high-speed train, D-prefix moving sleeper train (the moving sleeper train here only refers to the name of the train) and C-prefix city railway. The speed of high-speed trains can reach more than 300~350 kilometers per hour, and the speed of motor trains is 200~250 kilometers per hour. Metro trains are only used in Beijing and Tianjin. Generally, the fastest train is only 160 km. Subway is a low-speed EMU with a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Only used in big cities, not under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Railways.
harmonious
In China, all EMU trains are named Harmony, and the English name is China-Railway-Highspeed, which is China's high-speed railway, abbreviated as CRH.
