Into the supermarket, there are all kinds of snacks for Chinese New Year: candied melon, pistachio, melon seeds, jiayingzi, chocolate, egg rolls, potato chips, raisins, drinks ... People who come to buy Chinese New Year, especially children, are laughing, shouting and picking them up happily. Of course, no matter whose snack it is, there will be candy with different colors and tastes, because it symbolizes the happiness and sweetness of life in the coming year, and every household will buy some.

Snacks alone cannot reflect the richness of Spring Festival food. Let's look for the answer at the dinner table on New Year's Eve. This is simply a small food fair! On the dinner table of New Year's Eve, boiled chicken, stewed duck, stewed goose, braised large intestine, braised pig's trotters, steamed fish, boiled prawns, fried crabs with ginger and onion, fresh oysters with pepper and scallop soup are really mouth-watering, and it is a veritable carnival on the tip of the tongue! And the most distinctive pickled food in our family every year is sweet and sour trotters. Grandma goes to the market to buy good pig's trotters on the 29th every year. After returning home, she put two bottles of sweet vinegar, a catty of ginger, half a catty of rock sugar and a proper amount of water into a big earthen pot and boiled it for two hours, then poured the washed and cut pig's trotters into it and boiled it for half an hour. You're done! I couldn't help scooping up a bowl and tasting it: pig's trotters are soft but not greasy, and the soup is sour and sweet, which greatly increases people's appetite!
