How the clan system collapsed in the Qing Dynasty
The clan system of the late Qing Dynasty collapsed when the Eight-Power Allied Forces entered Beijing and China became a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. The British came to India and colonized the country, while Thailand, Laos and Burma, which had already had strong ties with China, further loosened their ties with China. After the Sino-French War, Vietnam was officially colonized by France, and the clan relationship in the south of China was now gone. To the east, Okinawa was annexed by Japan, and Korea was completely lost to China after the Sino-Japanese War. In other words, Korea was the last country to dismantle the clan relationship. So, as a whole, the root cause of the disintegration was the intervention of the capitalist countries in the war.
