Three schools of Japanese flower arrangement

Japanese flower arrangement, known as the "flower path", originated from Buddhist temples in China during the Sui Dynasty and was introduced to Japan with Japanese envoy Xiao Ye. There are many schools of flower arrangement in Japan, and it is claimed that there are three main streams. There are more than 400 genres recorded by Japan Flower Arrangement Association, among which Chifang Stream, Xiaoyuyuan Stream and Caoyue Stream are the most representative. 1. Ikebukuro is the oldest flower arrangement school in Japan and the representative school of flower arrangement in Japan. It has always been recognized as the origin of Japanese flower arrangement. Ikebukuro flower arrangement mainly has three forms: vertical flower, raw flower and modern free flower. Among them, "vertical flowers" are the main ones, and the number of branches is odd, but not even. Nine branches have their own characteristics, which are located in the upper, middle and lower sections, forming a unique style, following the order and position, and cannot be reversed. The overall shape is cylindrical. 2. Flower arrangement in Liu Xiaoyuan is mainly based on "color flower arrangement" and "landscape flower arrangement", and color flower arrangement is divided into "realistic" and "non-realistic". Realistic techniques pay attention to the seasonality of flowers and materials, and the form is strictly restricted; Non-realistic technique is not limited by the season of flowers, and can be matched with non-plant objects, which is a free insertion technique. The performance of small primitive flow is mainly "blooming flowers", that is, flowers "bloom" in shallow water plates, which is an extension of appearance. 3. In the use of flowers, flowers are accompanied by dry, dyed and withered plants. Works generally take three main branches as the composition center, each main branch takes a direction, and other flowers serve as a foil, which enhances the rich imagination and endless changes of the whole work and reaches a very high artistic level.
