Method for plan Dendrobium officinale
1, temperature regulation
Dendrobium likes a slightly cooler environment. Generally speaking, the most suitable temperature for its growth is 15℃~25℃ (i.e. April, May and September,1October every year). Once the temperature is lower than 10℃ or higher than 30℃, Dendrobium basically stops growing. But when the temperature is lower than 5℃ and higher than 35℃, the yellow leaves are more likely to fall off. Therefore, from the overall environment, the areas with long spring and autumn seasons are most suitable for raising Dendrobium. Areas with long time in winter or summer are not suitable for raising Dendrobium.
2. Loose soil
If you choose to plant Dendrobium in soil with high viscosity and poor air permeability, it will easily lead to root rot due to lack of oxygen. Therefore, when planting Dendrobium, some particles should be added to the nutrient soil to increase air permeability. You can also add a small amount of rotten peanut shells to the nutrient soil, which not only increases the permeability of the soil, but also supplements the nutrients needed by Dendrobium, killing two birds with one stone.
3. The washbasin should be shallow.
It is best to choose a shallow container for potted Dendrobium, not too deep. Because it is too deep, it will affect root respiration, leading to slow growth or rotten roots and yellow leaves. Therefore, it is not recommended to use deep potted plants for potted Dendrobium, but shallow potted plants. If you really want to use deep potted plants, you can pad some large particles at the bottom of the basin, pad the soil layer, and then plant Dendrobium. This effect is similar to shallow potted plants.
4. Humidity standard
Dendrobium likes humid environment, especially high humidity air environment. Its ideal growth state is when the air humidity reaches above 70%. Otherwise, if the humidity is too low, the growth will slow down, even the growth of yellow leaves will stagnate, and the flowering of pregnant buds will be seriously affected.
Therefore, in the daily maintenance of potted Dendrobium, water should be sprayed on the plant, the ground and around the plant frequently to maintain a high humidity environment. Conditional flower friends can put a humidifier next to potted Dendrobium and spray it continuously to ensure high air humidity to promote plant growth, which is very suitable for the northern region.
5. Lighting control
Dendrobium likes semi-shady growth environment and is not resistant to strong light. Dendrobium in family potted plants can be properly basked in the sun in addition to shading in summer, otherwise long-term exposure will make the leaves yellow, or stop growing and not sprout. After all, Dendrobium grows in wild Woods, sunny cliffs and other places.
