Research paper on interactive teaching method in English reading teaching
Abstract: The traditional language teaching method has been popular in English classes in China for many years. Traditional English teaching is mainly a translation method centered on teachers and textbooks. In the whole English classroom teaching, teachers dominate the whole classroom by explaining the meaning and usage of language, while learners' participation is minimal. Results English learners in China are experts in analyzing sentence structure and translating articles, but their ability to communicate with others in English is not satisfactory, which cannot meet the needs of current social development. Therefore, experts and teachers in English teaching should reflect on this problem in the classroom and actively change the current teaching methods so that what students have learned can be applied to real life. More and more teachers and linguists have realized that interactive teaching method is an effective way to overcome language teaching problems, and gradually realized the importance and urgency of cultivating students' communicative competence.

Taking the students of a middle school in Dalian as the experimental object, taking Unit 5 of English Elective Course in Senior High School as an example, this theory is applied to practical teaching and permeates every teaching link. The classroom is mainly cooperative group teaching, and students and teachers learn through exploration and conversation. This English reading class is mainly divided into three parts. The first part is fast reading. In this teaching session, students' main learning task is to browse the text quickly and have a general understanding of the text. Students browse the text not blindly, but with questions. The teacher asks the students to have a group discussion after browsing the text, and match the main content of each paragraph with the corresponding options in the question. In this process, teachers play a guiding role. Guiding students to find the corresponding answers, this teaching form can not only make students have a certain understanding of the text, but also improve their reading speed and learning efficiency. The second part is close reading, which requires students to read the text carefully and understand its meaning. Students should not only understand the content of each paragraph of the text, but also contact the context. Through group research and discussion, they can grasp the text as a whole and answer related questions. In this teaching process, different from the previous teaching mode, students no longer read and translate texts mechanically, but read the texts carefully in the form of group cooperation, understand the meaning of the texts and answer corresponding questions. In the process of group discussion, students not only have the spirit of teamwork, but also learn to take responsibility. They no longer answer questions casually, but are responsible for themselves and other members of the same group after careful consideration. The third part is the activities after reading. After reading and analyzing the text carefully, teachers should check and understand the students' mastery of the text. This teaching session is mainly based on a summary, and the group members talk about it and summarize the text. The best summary of the group discussion is expressed by one member. The summary content need not be too long, just describe the key content. In this teaching process, teachers can not only master the students' mastery. In the whole teaching process, interactive teaching method is everywhere. Ask and answer questions between teachers and students, guide the interaction, and discuss and interact with students through group cooperation. The interactive learning atmosphere of each group promotes the interactive learning of the whole class, and forms an interactive cooperative inquiry learning model in the whole class environment, thus forming an interactive cycle. Personal influence collectives, in turn, affect individuals. Through continuous influence, constantly refresh the overall performance of the class. Through the application research of interactive teaching method, we know that it is different from the traditional translation method.
Interactive teaching method pays more attention to cultivating students' initiative and creativity. In the whole learning process, students are the main body of the learning process, and teachers are the object of the learning process, which mainly plays a guiding and coordinating role. The classroom of interactive teaching method is more dynamic, and the whole classroom atmosphere is more harmonious. This class is full of laughter, students can express their opinions, and students are no longer afraid of being accused by teachers and laughed at by classmates because of wrong answers. Students like this classroom and this teaching mode. Students can feel that they are the masters of learning, and they are no longer passively accepting the knowledge taught by teachers, so they are willing to spend more time and energy on self-study. A harmonious learning environment is more conducive to cultivating students' creativity. In this environment, students will no longer worry about making mistakes, their thinking will be broader, students will be the main body of their own learning, and they will be more confident and interested in studying the problems encountered in the learning process. Gradually, students will form a knowledge frame structure in their minds, actively combine previous knowledge with existing knowledge, and constantly expand the knowledge frame in their minds, thus realizing knowledge acquisition. As an important language learning ability, English reading is paid more and more attention by teachers and scholars. It is becoming more and more important to cultivate students' good English reading ability. The application of interactive teaching method in English reading teaching has achieved good teaching results. Interactive teaching method emphasizes student-centered, breaks the traditional classroom teacher-led mode, advocates teacher-student interaction, and allows students to explore problems and master knowledge independently in communication and interaction. The idea of this teaching method is consistent with the core idea of English communicative competence based on input and output skills. In essence, communication comes from interaction. The connotation of verbal interaction is to receive and express information. In foreign language teaching, to promote two-way communication, it is necessary to stimulate and maintain students' interest in actively participating in interactive activities, so that verbal interaction will naturally come. Therefore, two-way communication is very important in language learning environment.
