Traditional Wushu is a part of China culture, but what can be handed down is rarely practical. Why?

Because traditional Wushu is mainly routine, it has not experienced much actual combat. Even if it is passed down, there is not much possibility of actual combat. Of course, China Wushu has become more and more practical and technical, so there are more and more traditional Wushu that can be used in actual combat.

China Wushu takes blocking rather than dodging as its main defensive technique, and there is also a premise that the fighting capacity is much higher than that of opponents, so it is obviously higher than that of opponents in speed and strength, and it can be blocked first. This feature is a big disadvantage in the ring. Since we are in the ring, our strength is generally similar. Generally no one can stop anyone. The best strategy is to dodge. So if it is a competition, the traditional martial arts in China are no longer applicable, so some martial arts will gradually die out.

Taking blocking instead of hiding as the main defensive technique has another advantage, that is, completing the attack synchronously in defense, which is also the source of those fancy movements in modern Wushu routines. Although the martial arts masters of later generations may not have been born in the army, their thoughts are in the same strain, and they just innovate their moves on this basic model.

However, due to the loss of its application environment as a battlefield killing technology, sometimes it is inevitable to create some flashy tactics, coupled with the lack of actual combat opportunities, soldiers will inevitably fall into a position of ostentation. However, the daily use of Wushu intensifies this trend. But aside from the effectiveness of specific moves, we can still see the actual combat soul of traditional Wushu from the basic strategic positioning of China Wushu. But now China is advocating the development of Chinese Wushu culture, which has gradually changed from the traditional routine of Chinese Wushu to meet the needs of actual combat, so Chinese culture has gradually passed down.
