There are roughly three categories: GPS positioning, base station positioning and Wifi positioning. GPS positioning completes precise positioning by receiving signals from multiple satellites, and the accuracy is very high. Base station positioning and Wifi positioning are completed through networks such as base stations and hotspots, and the accuracy is low.

At present, the most mainstream way to realize GPS positioning is the first one, but because GPS positioning is affected by factors such as whether the equipment contains GPS module, satellite position, buildings, natural obstacles, weather conditions and the adjustment of GPS satellites by the US government, it will turn to Wifi or base station positioning when it is not available. Of course, there are some similar auxiliary GPS(A-GPS) and some GPS enhanced services, which can achieve more accurate positioning by combining GPS positioning and network positioning technology.
