Brief description: This idea mainly implements the theory of urban regional plate proposed by American local economist Huo Yite in 1939, which is in line with the actual situation of Suzhou, that is, urban development always extends in a wedge shape along the traffic trunk line or the route with the least resistance, and cuts other areas of inclusive cities into plates.

1. The old city is under the unified jurisdiction of Pingjiang District, ending the past practice of working in a narrow space in the old city, which caused a waste of urban funds. In the future, the region will take the protection of the ancient city as the primary task, build the ancient city into a heritage site of Suzhou culture, cherish and make full use of the land resources of the ancient city, and there will be no new residential areas and large-scale urban transformation and development in the region. Buildings built after 1949 will be gradually demolished and converted into gardens. In addition, the garden and the water city will become two major tourism features in this area, and the garden and river landscape will be restored. The area will also reduce population density, reduce urban functions and move out of medical, educational and government institutions.

2. Jinchang District, as a subsidiary city of the ancient city, undertakes the urban functions of the ancient city that restrict its development, such as large modern commercial centers, transportation facilities and large high-density houses. Together with the ancient city, it has become the core of urban development.

3. Changzhou is a production and living zone along the main axis of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. The main body is Suzhou High-tech Zone, which is a comprehensive sub-center of the city and has various facilities such as finance, commerce, business entertainment, education and medical care. Changzhou was named after Changzhou Garden in the western suburbs of Suzhou in the Spring and Autumn and Five Dynasties, and Changzhou County in Suzhou in the Tang and Qing Dynasties. Changzhou County belonged to Changzhou District and xiangcheng district in Qing Dynasty.

4. Yuanhe District is a production and living area along the main axis of Suzhou-Kunshan-Shanghai development. It is the most important development pole of Suzhou, with the central business district of Suzhou. Yuanhe was named after the establishment of Yuanhe County here in Qing Dynasty.

Wuzhong District is the production and living belt along the main axis of Su Wujia's development and the gathering place of urban cultural media.

6. gusu district is a fan-shaped area around Taihu Lake in the west of Suzhou, focusing on the protection of natural ecological environment and historical and cultural villages and towns, and has become one of the most important industrial bases for business meetings, sightseeing and leisure, flowers, fruits, tea and fish in the Yangtze River Delta.

7. Xiangcheng District is a fan-shaped area of Yangcheng Lake in northern Suzhou, which is a transportation hub and logistics hub.

8. Songze District is a fan-shaped area around Hucheng Lake in the southeast of Suzhou. It is a landmark area of Jiangnan water town, with many ancient towns. Songze is named after Wusong River and Guzhenze (where Wusong River and Ancient Taihu Lake are located), and it is also an important spreading place of Songze culture.

9. Changshu is the second administrative center in Greater Suzhou.

10. Liangfeng City is the hub of river-sea combined transport. The name of Liang Feng is more historic. Together with Changshu City and Taicang City, it forms an economic zone along the Yangtze River, avoiding the situation of Zhangjiagang Port.

1 1. Kunshan is an important industrial and commercial emerging city between Jiangsu and Shanghai.

12. Taicang is the largest container port in Jiangsu Province and the northern hub of Shanghai International Shipping Center.

13. Wujiang is a transportation hub between Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
