An essay on a visit to Wudian City

Wudian city-a past life made of ancient red bricks.

There are many high-rise buildings and traffic, and the downtown area of Jinjiang in front of us is so lively, prosperous and even a little noisy. But this is not my destination.

Looking for a way into a path from the east side of wanda plaza, a line of red brick antiques came into view-Wudian City arrived. I am not from southern Fujian, but I have heard that Wudian City is Jinjiang, which is a cultural accumulation and a witness of history. I wanted to go to Wudian for a walk a long time ago, but I never got a chance. I'm deeply sorry. Today is finally here!

Cai Xiao, a fellow villager of Jinjiang Tong, showed us the way and introduced us to the past life of Wudian City. I can't believe that this ancient red brick building, which is still being repaired, is actually the birthplace of Jinjiang culture, and the old Jinjiang people affectionately call it "Wudian City". There are a large number of typical Minnan-style houses, ancestral halls, ancient temples, ancient shops, former residences of celebrities and other buildings preserved here. Here, it is a microcosm of Jinjiang history and culture!

According to legend, in the Western Jin Dynasty, the ancestral surname was Cai, who once moved south from the Central Plains and settled in Qingyang, Jinjiang. During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, Jinjiang became an independent county with frequent personnel exchanges. There are five Cai Qisun, and five restaurants have been opened on the official road at the foot of Qingyang Mountain for the convenience of pedestrians. These shops are famous for their attractive wine flags and delicious food, and are called "Qingyang Cuisine, Five Stores Market". With the development of society and the increasing prosperity of economy, Wudian City in Ming and Qing Dynasties has become a bustling block with many shops, busy streets and beautiful red brick houses dotted around.

Today, Jinjiang has developed from the initial "Wudian City" to the "leader" of county economy in Fujian Province. Its birthplace still holds 147 historic buildings, bearing the memories of 3 million Jinjiang people from generation to generation at home and abroad.

There are four of the eight scenic spots in Qingyang: Qingyang, the sound of stone drums, the waves of peach blossoms and the spirit of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda; There are also Shigu Temple with fairy incense, which is divided into Southeast Asia and Taiwan Province Province. There are more than 65,438+people in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and Southeast Asia, including Chua's Ancestral Hall and Zhuang's Family Temple at home and abroad.

Whether it is a red brick building with unique Minnan characteristics, a foreign building with a combination of Chinese and Western styles, or a western-style building, "Wudian City" has long been a link between overseas Chinese and Taiwan Province. At the same time, there are intangible cultural heritages with traditional characteristics of Jinjiang, such as Gaojia Opera, Puppet Show and Nanyin.

Compared with wanda plaza, which has been in business for a long time, the traditional block of Wudiancheng, which is still under construction, is still shrouded in mystery for many citizens because it has not been officially opened to the outside world. Today, we are walking in the traditional block of Wudian City, breathing the breath of traditional history and feeling the breathing of Jinjiang, a giant in rapid prosperity. ...

Cai Xiao said that in the process of demolition and reconstruction, this ancient block was specially preserved to inherit and protect the historical context of the city. After the transformation, the future Wudian traditional cultural block will become a carrier for Jinjiang people to recall their past lives and a link for young people to seek their dreams and roots. ...
