Introduction to Guangdong English
Guangdong is a province on the South China Sea coast of People's Republic of China (PRC). Guangdong is also called Canton or Guangdong Province in English. Guangzhou, the provincial capital, and Shenzhen, the economic center, are the most populous and important cities in China. There are different languages in different areas of Guangdong, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Chaozhou dialect and Hakka dialect. Before Hong Kong and Macao became British and Portuguese colonies respectively, they were part of Guangdong in history and are now special administrative regions. Guangdong is a very outbound place.
