Four stages of Polaris index

Polaris indicator: (S = specific, M = measurable, A = achievable, R = relevant, T = time-limited).

S means that the goal must be specific, m means that the goal can be measured, a means that it can be achieved, r means that it is relevant, and t means that there is a clear time limit.

Polaris indicators can help companies in many ways:

Focus: the focus of the whole company is the same. At the team level, you still have many people focusing on different directions, but in the end, everyone's goal is the same. More relevant information will be provided later.

Clear: Everyone can see the operation of the company at a glance.

Customer-centric: the company is more concerned with adding value to customers than depriving them of value, so you will automatically make room to retain customers. The end result will be that your business will grow more efficiently, because you have more attention and concern for long-term growth.

A good NSM can ensure that you always pay attention to all different piracy indicators /AARRR, such as retention rate and recommendation rate, not just marketing KPI. For example, "order quantity" pays too much attention to your marketing work, not customer satisfaction.

Customers can't get any value from placing orders, so when you focus on the number of orders completed and customers are never satisfied with their orders, your company may "leak". Therefore, a good NSM should be "number of packages delivered without complaints". This is the perfect balance between measuring customer satisfaction and your ability to operate.
