What are Melaleuca cloth shoes?
In the past, people rarely wore shoes with cowhide soles, beef tendon soles or soles like sports shoes. Cotton shoes are hand-sewn by women themselves, and the material for making soles is cotton cloth which is common in life and affordable. Because cotton cloth is not as wear-resistant as the existing soles, it is easy to get wet when it rains, and a single layer of cotton cloth is not enough, so women cut out a lot of cotton cloth, and then let them sew them tightly together layer by layer, so that the soles become thicker and are not easy to get wet and wear. And this process of making cotton soles is called "bottoming". In fact, the soles of cotton shoes are not necessarily as many as a thousand layers, but many layers are stacked together. People call them "thousand-layer soles" in order to sound nice and smooth.
