What is the function of the government?

Political function, also known as ruling function, refers to the government's function of safeguarding the interests of the national ruling class externally, protecting national security internally and maintaining social order. The government of China has four main political functions:

① Military support function. That is, the functions of safeguarding national independence and sovereignty integrity, safeguarding national defense security and resisting foreign aggression.

② Diplomatic function. That is, through the government's diplomatic activities, we can promote normal political and economic exchanges between China and other countries in the world, establish good-neighborly and friendly relations, promote mutual benefit among countries, oppose power politics and safeguard world peace and equality.

③ Public security function. That is, the functions of maintaining social order within the country, suppressing activities of treason and endangering social security, safeguarding people's political rights and the safety of life and property, and safeguarding the dignity of the Constitution and laws.

④ The function of democratic political construction. That is, through government activities, it promotes the improvement of state power and the development of democratic politics.
