How much do you know about basic education in Britain?
The basic education in Britain is 13, and ours is 12. Primary school students in Britain begin to enter 1 grade at the age of 5, and enter junior high school at the age of 14, which is GCSE. After reaching the age of 16, I began to go to high school, which is A-Level. Enter the university stage after graduating from A-Level. Our basic education is 6+3+3 system, with 6 years in primary school, 3 years in junior high school and 3 years in senior high school.
GCSE is a general certificate course in British secondary education. Before A-LEVEL, the scores 10 and 1 1 are equivalent to the domestic senior one and senior two. At the GCSE stage, students generally study 8- 12 courses.
A-LEVEL is a higher education certificate course in Britain, that is, British 12 and 13. It is equivalent to a senior three and a freshman in China. In the first year of A-LEVEL, AS students usually choose four courses to study, and in the second year A2 students usually choose three courses.
So how should students choose when applying?
Generally, students studying in Grade Two and Grade Three in China should apply for GCSE in the UK for two years. Particularly outstanding junior high school graduates can apply for GCSE or PRE-ALEVEL in 1 year. However, if students have a high goal of going to college in the future, it is recommended to study GCSE for two years. Generally, students applying for GCSE are under 16 years old.
Generally, students from senior one, senior two and senior three in China can apply for A-LEVEL in the UK in two years. General schools require students to be above 16 and below 18. At the same time, some schools accept students of 18 age, but they need to confirm before applying and prepare IELTS scores. For students in Grade Two and Grade Three, if they don't want to go to high school, they can also go to college by studying for one year.
There are more than 3,000 secondary schools in Britain, which are divided into private secondary schools, public secondary schools and colleges of education. Then when choosing, we should comprehensively consider the teaching quality, geographical location, environment, curriculum and study abroad budget of the school. Secondary schools in Britain generally apply one and a half years in advance. If you want your children to enjoy a better education, you must make preparations early.
