Please compare the differences between the ancient Greek and Roman traditions of historiography

Western classical historiography refers to the historiography of the ancient Greek and Roman eras. Counting from the pre-Herodotus era, which traces back the myths and epics, to the end of the "classical world" in the 5th century A.D., Western classical historiography has experienced a historical process of occurrence and development for more than a thousand years, and formed many fine traditions of Western historiography which are quite influential. The famous ancient Greek historian Thucydides' "History of the Peloponnesian War" narrated the causes, processes and results of events from human activities, trying to explain history entirely from people themselves. In explaining historical events, he did not simply attribute them to chance or mysterious factors, but devoted himself to exploring the causal relationship between historical events from economic, political and cultural perspectives. It can be said that in Thucydides' analysis of events, it is no longer possible to find any concept of predestination that is difficult to defy the will of the gods and elusive, but is entirely a conflict and struggle between human beings, nations, city-states, and societies. In order to make his narrative consistent with the objective facts, he took great pains to go to various places for fieldwork, and made specific and accurate records of the hills, valleys, marshes, harbors, passes, etc. involved in the war. Although the History of the Peloponnesian War is a typical history, the author regarded the war, which stretched over a period of 27 years, with intervals of negotiation and peace, and which broke out in several distant regions, as a coherent historical event, which shows that he had a keen and broad historical vision~
