Zhu Maichen's anecdotes and allusions.

1, water under the bridge

In the Western Han Dynasty, there lived a scholar Zhu Maichen and his wife Cui Shi at the foot of the Dome Mountain in Huixi County (now Wuzhong District, Suzhou). Zhu Maichen is honest and kind, and studies hard every day, but he is unlucky and frustrated repeatedly. He came from a poor family and had no livelihood, so he had to chop wood on the dome mountain for a living.

Over the years, Cui Shi lived a poor life with her husband. Gradually, she became impatient and her temper became worse and worse. She looked down on her husband's poor appearance from the heart and spoke harshly. Zhu Maichen was speechless and had to bear it silently.

One day, it was freezing and snowing, and Zhu Maichen was very hungry. Cui Shi forced him to chop wood up the hill. He thought that his wife would be happy if he cut more firewood and sold it before buying rice noodles.

Who knows that Cui Shi has other plans: she asked the matchmaker to find herself a new husband-a well-off carpenter Zhang. As soon as Zhu Maichen entered the room, Cui Shi asked him to write a divorce certificate. Zhu Maichen painfully begged his wife to be patient for a while, and when his luck changed, life would get better.

Cui Shi insisted that even if Zhu Maichen became a senior official in the future and became a beggar himself, he would not beg him. Zhu Maichen saw that he had completely ignored the love of husband and wife for many years, so he had to write a letter of divorce.

Soon, Zhu Maichen was recommended by Iwasuke, an official of the imperial court. When Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Zhu Maichen was appointed as the prefect of Huiji. Cui Shi was very upset when she learned that, and she thought, how can a carpenter compare with a satrap? Mrs. satrap enjoys prosperity!

She decided to go to Zhu Maichen instead of her current husband. Cui Shi, unkempt and barefoot, ran to Zhu Maichen and begged him to allow himself to return to Zhujiajian.

Zhu Maichen, who is riding on a burly horse, is thoughtful. He asked someone to pour a basin of water in front of the horse and told Cui Shi that if the spilled water could be recovered from the basin, he would promise her to come back. Cui Shiwen heard that the fate was over. She felt ashamed and crazy.

2, buy a minister with a negative salary

Zhu Maichen grew up in a poor family and liked reading, but he didn't run an industry. He often cuts wood and sells it to make a living. Carrying firewood, reading while walking. His wife followed with firewood and kept stopping Zhu Maichen from singing all the way, but Zhu Maichen sang even louder.

His wife felt ashamed and asked to leave him. Zhu Maichen said with a smile, "I must be rich at the age of 50, and now I'm over 40. You have worked hard for a long time, and I will repay you when I get rich. "

The wife said angrily, "People like you will starve to death in the ravine. How can they be rich?" Zhu Maichen couldn't keep him, so she had to leave.

After that, Zhu Maichen sang songs while walking on the road, and walked among the tombs with firewood on his back. His ex-wife and husband went to the grave, saw Zhu Maichen cold and hungry, and called him to eat.

A few years later, Zhu Maichen took the newspaper official to escort the baggage car to Chang 'an. I went to the palace to deliver the memorial for a long time, but I didn't pick it up. I was waiting for the imperial edict at the bus stop, and I ran out of food. The officials took turns giving him food.

Yan Zhu, a fellow countryman with the same fame as him, was favored by the emperor. Yan Zhu recommended Zhu Maichen to the emperor. After being summoned, he was awarded the prefect of Huiji. Zhu Maichen then left with the horses and chariots of the post station. When the officials of Huiji heard that the magistrate was coming, they called the people to build roads.

The county magistrate came to see me off, with more than 100 vehicles. When he arrived in Wu Jie, Zhu Maichen saw his ex-wife and husband building a road, so he stopped the car and asked the car behind him to take them to the Taishoufu and put them in the garden to provide food. A month later, his wife hanged herself. Zhu Maichen gave her husband some silver dollars as a funerary object.

The death of Zhu Maichen:

In the first year of Yuanfeng (1 10 BC), Yushan, the king of Dongyue, claimed to be the emperor of Dongyue, invaded Baisha, Wulin and Meiling in the Han Dynasty and killed local officials.

Zhu Maichen accepted the imperial edict of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, led the army and set out with General Han Shuo's clause to attack East Vietnam from the sea. During the war, the king of Fujian and Vietnam collaborated with others to kill Yu Shan and surrendered to the Han army. Since then, Fujian and Vietnam have perished.

Zhu Maichen was recruited into the imperial court as a monarch and a surname (officially called by the Han Dynasty) because of his meritorious service in counterinsurgency, and he was listed as a nine-grade leader in the Qing Dynasty. A few years later, Zhu Maichen was dismissed for violating the law, and was later promoted as the director of the Prime Minister's Office.

Zhang Tang, an ancient scholar, was originally a small official and later came to Zhu Maichen. Zhang Tang and GongSunHong have the same temperament, and they are close friends who never turn against each other. They recommended each other and advertised themselves as courtiers. So Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty named Zhang Tang Tingwei.

Later, Zhang Tang falsely accused Zhu Maichen's good friend Yan Shu of being related to the rebellion of Liu An, the king of Huainan, and Emperor Wu of Han ordered Yan Shu to be beheaded. Zhu Maichen therefore resented Zhang Tang.

When Zhu Maichen was prime minister, Zhang Tang handled prime minister affairs many times, so he deliberately bullied and humiliated the three prime ministers (namely, Zhu Maichen, Dynasty and Biantong) in the prime minister's office.

When Zhu Maichen, Dynasty and Bian Tong visited Zhang Tang, Zhang Tang sat on the bed and treated him rudely. Therefore, Sanshili bears a grudge against Zhang Tang and waits for revenge. Zhu Maichen often tried to lay down his life to kill Zhang Tang.

Soon, the money (coins buried with him) in Emperor Xiaowen's mausoleum was stolen. Zhang Tang wants to frame the Prime Minister Zhuang, blaming Zhuang for stealing money, and he will also be accused of knowing the truth, removing his official position, and then taking over as Prime Minister by himself.

Unexpectedly, someone leaked the secret. Knowing that Zhang Tang was going to frame Prime Minister Zhuang, the current dynasty and Bian Tong went to inform Zhuang and said to him, "It is better to take the initiative to get rid of Zhang. It is said that businessman Tian Xin is a pawn of Zhang Tang, colluding with Zhang Tang and engaging in adultery for profit, and teaching Zhang to give up crime on this charge. " .

Prime Minister Zhuang ordered three people to handle it for him. Therefore, Zhu Maichen, Dynasty and Bian Tong secretly ordered officials to arrest businessman Tian Xin until the case was heard. After trial and torture, Tian Xin had to confess.

Zhang Tang knew he was going to die, so he wrote a suicide note, saying that three long histories (Zhu Maichen, Dynasty and Biantong) framed him. After writing the suicide note, he committed suicide with a sword and was immediately killed.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty read Zhang Tang's suicide note and felt very regretful. He ordered the arrest of San Changshi as a sign of atonement. Zhu Maichen, Dynasty and Bian Tong were tied to the execution ground and beheaded.
