What is the Chinese style of the Beijing Winter Olympics?

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will be "Chinese style", with many elements of traditional Chinese culture incorporated into the logo, torch, medals, uniforms, bouquets, mascots and competition venues, all of which will be both uniquely beautiful and very meaningful.

The 30 sports icons for the Beijing Winter Olympics are inspired by the structure of Chinese characters, and incorporate the art of seal carving, which has been passed down for thousands of years, to provide a special "seal" for the 30 Winter Olympics competitions, which also echoes the 2008 Olympic Games emblem "China Seal" in Beijing. The "China Seal" echoes the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem.

Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics Committee mascots, Ice Dumpling and Snow Rongrong, are based on China's "national treasures," the giant panda, and the Chinese lantern, respectively. "Ice Dundun" symbolizes health, resilience and the inspiring Olympic spirit; "Snow Rongrong" with the most representative "Chinese red" as the main color, implying that it lights up the dream and warms up the world.

Beijing Winter Olympics Chinese style: medals and concentric circles of jade biscuits

The design of the medals for the Beijing Winter Olympics originated from the ancient Chinese concentric circles of jade biscuits. The five rings on the front side, which are both the five Olympic rings and the traditional Chinese "five strings", are inspired by the pattern of traditional stringed jade biscuits; the 24 dots on the back side of the rings, as well as the arcs of starry sky movement, are inspired by the ancient astronomical chart "Seven Balances and Six Interval Chart".
