How to remedy the poor sound insulation effect of doors?

The main function of the door is heat preservation, sun shading and sound insulation, and the sound insulation is poor. I believe that the thermal insulation ability is not much better-the thickness, material density and filler of the door panel will affect the thermal insulation and sound insulation ability of the wooden door (sound insulation is actually one thing, hereinafter collectively referred to as "sound insulation").

It may be too late for some friends to say this now: the wooden door was soundproofed when I bought it home, and now I am a little reluctant to change the door. Is there any solution?

Method 1: sealing strip

No matter what the quality of the door is, there must be a gap between the door and the frame. This gap is definitely not soundproof-filling this gap will greatly enhance the soundproof effect of the door.

It is recommended to use D-shaped sealing strips (both left and right sides and above) for ordinary flat wooden doors-measure the crack size and buy products with appropriate thickness. There is glue on the back, just tear off the sticker.

If the floor material inside and outside the door is the same-there is no floor edge sealing, there must be a gap under the door. This gap can use this silicone sealing strip, which is also self-adhesive and easy to install.

There is also a special sealing strip at the bottom of the door. Only heard people mention it. I've never seen anyone really have the courage to put it on their door. Let's open our eyes.

Sliding doors can use this kind of sealing strip (just called "sealing strip", without its own name). Sticking to the door frame of the sliding door can also play a sealing role.

There is also a top sealing strip for windows, which can also be installed on sliding doors. However, the width of the door crack should be measured before installation. If the top is too thick, the door switch may not be smooth.

Method 2: soundproof cotton

Everyone knows the power of soundproof cotton-the soundproof of ——KTV is piled up with thick soundproof cotton. Sound insulation cotton can also be attached to the door.

There are also those who specialize in selling soundproof cotton for doors. The back is self-adhesive and the front is patterned. Sticking it on the door can sound insulation without affecting the appearance-if it is too ugly, you can buy soundproof cotton without patterns. After the sound insulation cotton is pasted, a layer of door felt is pasted on it-the felt itself has certain sound insulation ability, but it is mainly used here for good looks.
