"Taigu City is really famous, and the Drum Tower is built in the middle of the street." As a landmark building of Taigu Ancient City, Drum Tower not only contains traditional aesthetic ideas, but also objectively plays a positioning role in the architectural planning of the ancient city. There are four streets, eight wells and seventy-two lanes in the old town of Taigu, with the Drum Tower as the center and radiating east, south and west streets. To the north of the building is the old county government, and the north street intersects with the middle section of the west street. On this basis, most of the streets and lanes are horizontal and vertical, and the houses in the whole city are divided into several squares, which makes the building specifications of the whole ancient city neat and orderly.

The buildings in the ancient city block include the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Republic of China, the early liberation and the Cultural Revolution, among which the buildings in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China account for 80% and are basically well preserved. It accounted for 12% in the early days of liberation and the Cultural Revolution. There are three types of shops: heavy building type, fence type and hall type. Hundreds of years before this century, it was once a place that politicians, businessmen and dignitaries dreamed of living, ecstasy and even spending the rest of their lives. At that time, it was one of the financial centers in China and even Asia, and was called the Wall Street of China by Americans.

In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), Kong Xiangxi established Ji Xiang Company, specializing in Asian kerosene, Shell gasoline and engine oil. Also comprador other foreign goods, such as small internal alkali, swire sugar, three high wax, Lihua pancreas and so on. The goods landed from Tianjin Port and arrived in Taigu for distribution. After that, more than 40 punishment numbers were opened all over the country, and the general manager was Kong, the son of the fourth uncle. Taigu 40 people, divided into clerical, accounting, cashier, business and other departments. Each branch has more than 300 employees, with an average monthly turnover of about150,000 yuan and an annual profit of about 350,000 yuan. In 22 years (1933), Kong Xiangxi became the finance minister of the national government. Ji Xiang company's scale is expanding, its business types are greatly increased, and its branches are all over the country. 1937, Japan launched a full-scale war of aggression against China, and Ji Xiang Company moved to Sichuan. The number of semicolons in big cities in North China and Central China has generally shrunk, making it difficult to operate, and many semicolons have closed down.

Zhixinxing was reorganized from Su Guang Silk Satin Village. It is the earliest and largest bank established by Taigu Gang. As early as the Ming Dynasty, the family of Taigugouzi Village did tea business in Hankou and set up a semicolon "Know Yi Tang" in Beijing. In the early days, in addition to buying and selling tea, it also operated passenger warehouses and delivered goods on behalf of customers. Later, it developed into a satin manor, also dealing in medicinal materials and jewelry, with branches all over the country. After reorganization into a bank, the general number is located in the west street of Taigu City, and the internal counter number is "Huitong Court", which is the financial core institution of the whole number and has a "Le Sanhe" account (that is, Sangongmentang). There is a semicolon in Beijing, which is still called "Zhiyitang", and there are semicolons in Taiyuan, Xinzhou, Jiexian, Yuncheng, Quwo, Tianjin, Zhangjiakou, Jilin, Shenyang, Jinzhou, Yingkou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hankou, Shashi, Xiangtan, Guangzhou, Kaifeng, Jinan, Zhoucun and Yantai in Xinjiang.

In the 11th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1885), Shen Shouchang, Chen Yongquan, Qiao Jinquan and Wu Huiwen, who were issued by Guangsheng Weici, and seven shareholders who issued the number together, formed a new number, the full name of Guangsheng Pharmacy Yuanji, referred to as Guangshengyuan for short. The location is located in the west street of the county. The main business is the wholesale of Chinese herbal medicines and the manufacturing and sales of Chinese patent medicines. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Guangshengyuan resumed production and operation, and the output of various Chinese patent medicines soared. Guilingji and Dingkundan resumed export to earn foreign exchange. After 1952, Guangshengyuan successively withdrew from Beijing, Tianjin, Hong Kong, Zhengzhou, Jinan and other places, repatriated personnel and funds, and devoted himself to the production of Chinese medicine. 1955, Guangshengyuan was a public-private partnership, and merged with three century-old stores, Guangshengyuan, Guangyuan Store and Yanlingtang, to form Taigu Guangyuyuan Pharmaceutical Factory, a public-private partnership in Shanxi Province.
