My Path to Chinese Medicine - Practicing Medicine

I. Bonding with TCM

In July 2011, my son was born.

More than 40 days after the birth, I returned to Beijing, and began a life of study while bringing up my baby. As mentioned earlier, the child was hospitalized for more than a week after birth because of jaundice, and as a result, he got used to the pacifier, in order to correct his breastfeeding, starved him for nearly a day, the child still resisted, and finally, under the persuasion of the elderly, he had to give up, as a result, almost back to breastfeeding, the milk is getting smaller and smaller, not yet out of the month, and had to hitch a ride on the formula feeding. This also left a hidden problem for the child's physique later.

Mentioned here, I still want to emphasize that the child's physique, in addition to on the one hand by the parent's physique inheritance, on the other hand, with the mother's nutrition during pregnancy, the emotions have a great deal to do. My child from birth, growth is relatively slow, the head than the same age to grow small, on the one hand, I grew up with a poor physique, because I was born prematurely, according to my mother, when I gave birth to me was difficult to deliver, it took seven days and seven nights to give birth to me, born only chopsticks so long, suffocated will not be able to cry. Combined with the fact that I had terrible pregnancy sickness and not enough breastfeeding after the baby was born, all of this had an impact on the baby.

When my child was about 8 or 9 months old, I started to look for a job because my husband was taking care of a family of 4 on his own, in order to relieve him of the pressure.

This year was a turning point in my life career and practice.

Soon after, I entered an organization that prevents and regulates sub-health and chronic diseases. In this organization, I was exposed to Western nutritional views, for example, eating milk increases the risk of tumors and chronic diseases. This is contrary to my traditional concept of nutrition, and can even be said to be subversive. I learned about the Gerson Therapy, a cutting-edge therapy for treating tumors in the United States, as well as Dr. Yung-Chi Wu's method of regulating tumors in Taiwan, and witnessed Dr. Wu, who was already in his seventies at the time, and heard his lectures. Although this unit is not a hospital, it undertakes work similar to that of a hospital, and our clients entrust their health to us. My colleagues are also many medical authorities, such as retired professors from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the chief cardiac surgeon from the China-Japan Hospital, and the diabetes attending physician from the Third Hospital of North China Medical Sciences. It can be said that this unit has given me a very great exercise, and we often study and discuss, hold lectures, and give health care programs to our clients, and I have also undertaken many times to give lectures on nutritious and healthy meals and traditional Chinese medicine courses. Our target groups are all kinds of sub-healthy people, chronic patients, and tumor patients. Through this work, I tried to combine the thinking of Chinese medicine with the thinking of modern Western nutrition, and went through the process of questioning, seeking proof and finally putting the two into common ground, and many of the concepts have even been influenced until now.

At the same time, this year I applied for the examination of Chinese and Western medicine assistant practitioner, and passed the examination, and obtained the qualification of assistant practitioner.

With my studies at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the depth of Chinese medicine, and my experience, I gradually developed a strong interest in Chinese medicine, it can be said that before I just float on the surface of Chinese medicine, gradually, I gradually deepen, to appreciate the beauty and magic of Chinese medicine.

Second, step into the door of Chinese medicine

I was most impressed by three things.

The first is my son. Because of his poor health since childhood, when he was 2 years old, the doctor thought that his growth was delayed, and predicted that his adult height would be less than 170cm, maybe just over 160cm. I was very sad, and I did all kinds of tests in the China-Japan Hospital, including nuclear magnetic brain, growth hormone stimulation test, and the doctor suggested that the child should be injected with growth hormone once a week for a period of 1~2 years. As a mother, you can imagine how I felt when I heard such a result. So she went to the Beijing Pediatric Research Institute, and the doctor at the Institute suggested that she could observe her child for another 2 years. If the growth is still slow, then we can give it another shot. But the doctor's words gave me hope again, she said, the child's future height, although there is a prediction of a general range, but it is not absolute. After all, acquired factors account for about 40%. Later, after seeing a relatively famous Chinese medicine practitioner, he thought that there was absolutely no need to worry about growth hormone, the Chinese medicine practitioner does not recommend, and gave the child prescribed Chinese medicine for two or three months to regulate. Although he did not insist on going to see, but he gave us some advice on life, which I think is very beneficial.

The second thing is that after the child started kindergarten, he got sick repeatedly. This is a process that every child goes through. Before my child started kindergarten, he had a couple of colds and even bronchopneumonia, which he got over with antibiotics. However, this time, a full dry cough for nearly a month, and finally the Western medicine said, it is specific cough, further development will become bronchial asthma, and then gave the child prescribed Shun Er Ning (an airway antispasmodic, asthma prevention), anti-inflammatory drugs, and require the child to do continuous nebulization, the course of treatment for about 2 or 3 months. After about 3 sessions of nebulization, I noticed that my child changed from a dry cough to a worsening cough with a lot of phlegm, I felt that this was not right, however, the doctor explained that this was normal, and my inner self did not agree with the doctor's statement. I then registered with a well-known pediatric Chinese medicine practitioner, and under his treatment, my child's cough was under control after 5 doses of medicine. Since then, when my child was sick with cough, I basically went to see him. Although his registration fee was relatively high, the effect of treatment was very definite. Usually 3 or 5 doses of medicine is good. This has increased my interest in Chinese medicine.

The third one is myself. in early 2015, because of the mental stress, the body repeatedly out of condition, got bacterial vaginitis, the disease makes me sleepless nights. Although it is not a big disease, but repeatedly tossed for several months to see the bad, spent a thousand dollars, go to the hospital opened a bunch of Western medicine, suppositories, but always continue to be bad. Finally I tried to see a traditional Chinese medicine, not more than two weeks, it was cured.

After these events, my mindset began to turn around, and the phrase that Chinese medicine comes slowly, I don't believe anymore. I agree with my teacher's statement: acute diseases, Chinese medicine does not have to be slower than Western medicine; chronic diseases, Western medicine want to fast fast!

During the period, I visited the national doctor Lu Zhizheng's brother, a kind old Chinese medicine, to see his miraculous cure; also follow my Chinese medicine teacher - Liu Dagang master learning Chinese medicine, his family is the ancestor of Chinese medicine, and he learns acupuncture, face diagnosis and diagnosis, and under his guidance in his own body to understand the feeling of needles; with the national famous Chinese medicine teacher Song Tianbin sat down with the old Chinese medicine teacher. Old Chinese medicine teacher Song Tianbin sit with the clinic; study Tianjin Cancer Hospital Professor Wu Yongzhi's video lectures; with the National Medical Master Wang Wenlin teacher to learn painless orthopedic ...... around to learn medicine, such as a hunger. When the door of Chinese medicine opened to me, I realized that Chinese medicine is such an interesting discipline. Previously daunting Chinese medicine books now become vivid and interesting; previously encountered diseases would like to use Western medicine to solve the problem now are the first to consider Chinese medicine; from my own, around friends and relatives on a case of healing also gave me a lot of confidence, so that I firmly held their own beliefs - I want to return to Chinese medicine.

I went to work at Deshengmen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where I worked in the thyroid department, ophthalmology and orthopedics, which really brought me back to Chinese medicine, and 2016 was also the year that I obtained the qualification of licensed physician.

Destiny always likes to play jokes on us. one day in May 2017, I received a call from my brother that my mother's breast cancer had recurred with bone metastases. The news was another bolt from the blue, and my heart hit rock bottom. Soon after, my son was diagnosed with enlarged adenoids, and Western medicine recommended surgery. I was overwhelmed by the two pieces of bad news. However, I couldn't care less. I returned home to Hubei, thinking that I should be with my mother as much as possible, and that no matter what method I used, the most important thing was to fight the tumor. My family agreed that chemotherapy should be given to my mother, especially my father. Although I was very much against chemotherapy at this time in my mind, I had to respect my father's choice. So I accompanied my mother to her chemotherapy treatments and used every means I knew and understood to help her. Acupuncture, moxibustion, nutritional supplements, essential oils ...... were all used to assist my mother.

This process was very painful because my heart was tied at both ends, one side was my son and the other side was my mother. Mother appeared all kinds of chemotherapy reaction not to mention, sternum pain, neck swelling lymph nodes distension is very worrying to me. I read a lot of books on tumor management, Chinese medicine, Western medicine, and Western naturopathic medicine. ...... After 3 courses of chemotherapy, I interrupted chemotherapy for my mother and used conservative treatment. At present, my mother's health is generally quite good, although there was a period of "deterioration" in the middle of the treatment, which also made me realize how important TCM's diagnosis and treatment is at different stages of the disease and in treating different physical conditions. I will write about this process later, but I will briefly mention it today.

Till today, I would like to say, in fact, I am very thankful that every Chinese medicine leader I have met is a person with an open mind and high medical ethics, who unselfishly told me about their own learning, and even without any reservation, including my teacher now - the Chinese medicine gynecology family "information mountain Yang This includes my current teacher, Mr. Yang Xiaosheng, the 24th generation of the Chinese medicine gynecology family "Information Mountain Yang". Without them, I would not have come this far, and I would not have been so passionate about TCM. I sincerely hope that all my teachers will be healthy and live long! I also hope that I can utilize what I have learned and bring health to more people!
