What is acrylic pigment?

Propylene pigment is a new type of painting pigment, which is made by mixing chemically synthesized emulsions (including acrylate, methacrylate, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, thickener, filler, etc.). ) colored particles.

Propylene pigments appeared in the 1960s. Experiments show that it has many advantages that other pigments can't match: it is a flexible film after drying, strong and wear-resistant, water-resistant, corrosion-resistant, naturally anti-aging, colorfast, non-deteriorating, non-reflective, easy to wash after painting, and suitable for painting on bookshelves, indoor and outdoor murals and so on. It can be stacked layer by layer to draw a heavy feeling; You can also add powder and appropriate amount of water to cover the overlapping parts with gouache-like painting, so that the picture level is rich and clear; If you add a lot of water to the pigment, you can achieve the effect of watercolor and meticulous painting. Through baking and dyeing layer by layer, the effect is pure and transparent.

Propylene pigment is a synthetic polymer pigment, which was invented in 1950s and made of pigment powder and acrylic latex. Acrylic latex is also called acrylic polymer latex. There are many kinds of propylene resins, such as methacrylic resin, so there are also many kinds of propylene pigments. Foreign pigment manufacturers have produced a series of propylene products, such as matt propylene pigment, semi-matt propylene pigment and glossy propylene pigment, as well as propylene matt oil, varnish and plastic ointment.

Acrylic pigments are very popular with painters. Compared with oil painting pigments, it has the following characteristics:

(1) can be released by water, which is beneficial to cleaning.

(2) Quick drying. Pigment can be dried in a few minutes after putting pen to paper, instead of waiting for months to polish it like oil painting. Painters who like slow-drying pigments can use retarders to delay the drying time of pigments.

(3) After drying, the colored layer will quickly lose its solubility and form a tough, elastic and impermeable film. This film is similar to rubber.

(4) The color is full, dense and fresh, and no matter how blended, it will not feel "dirty" or "gray". The color layer will never be stained by oil absorption.

(5) the durability of the work is long. The oil film in oil painting is easy to oxidize, yellow and harden, and it is easy to crack the picture after a long time. Theoretically, acrylic films will never become brittle and yellow.

(6) The biggest difference between acrylic pigment and oil painting is that it has the operational characteristics of general water-based pigment, which can be used as both watercolor and gouache.

(7) There are particles, coarse particles and fine particles in the acrylic plastic ointment, which provides convenience for making texture.

(8) Propylene pigment is nontoxic and will not cause harm to human body.

It should be noted that acrylic painting should be painted on the base made of acrylic primer (gypsum), and oily base painting cannot be used. Material experts also don't advocate the mixed use of propylene and oil painting colors, especially don't paint oil paintings on propylene base, mainly for the permanent preservation of works. Propylene has no adverse reaction with oil painting pigments, and its adhesion needs time to be tested when it is used alternately.

On-line control of propylene pigment

Propylene is mixed with water, because if there is too much water, the lines drawn on clothes will become water. Originally, the line was drawn, but it turned into a thick point. If there is too little water, the effect of painting on clothes will be bad and dry. Put forward some suggestions:

1, when using a pen, you can use a duckbill pen (oil painting pen) or a pen with synthetic yellow hair (the price is more expensive than oil painting pen) because the hair is hard and uniform, which is easier to grasp.

2, find a useless dress, or try a pen with a rag to see the effect first.

3. It is suggested to use an oily pen to hook the sideline. Note: a layer of waste clean towel must be placed under the clothes to avoid hydration of oil-based pens. Or seep into the back of the clothes. And write accurately and quickly.

How can acrylic pigments not fade on cotton T-shirts?

It's been a long time since I finished painting and ironed it.

Not too thin, it will fade after washing ~ not too thick, it will crack. Try to draw as light as possible, the color will get darker when it dries. You can experiment with a piece of waste cloth, which will be much better ~ (_ It's my first time to experiment with a piece of waste cloth, so I didn't take many detours ~ ~)

hand painted t shirts

What is needed is a T-shirt.

Other materials:

1.t-shirt coating-acrylic. Also known as acrylic pigment.

It is characterized by water solubility and can be dissolved with water. But after drying, it has waterproof effect and can be painted repeatedly. Strongly dry. It has strong adhesion and can be attached to any material, such as glass, cloth, wood and so on. And will not fade and peel off in the wind and rain. Acrylic pigment is very cheap, a box of 12 is only a dozen yuan. Remember, these paints can't be washed clean when they are dry. I have sacrificed two pairs of pants.

2. Pencil or carbon stick:

First, you should make a short draft on the T-shirt. You can use a pencil. Sometimes the pencil marks are not obvious. You can buy a carbon ribbon. It is soft and easy to draw.

When typing, just put down the pen gently, and the traces of the pencil can only be seen by the eyes.

There is no need to erase the wrong pictures and cross the wrong lines. So you don't need an eraser. On the cloth, using an eraser will get the clothes dirty.

3. Brush, water and paint tray:

Brushes are used to tick lines and colors. You can prepare a pen with a thin tip to tick the line. A pen with a thick nib, colored.

Clear water is used for color matching. Personally, I don't think propylene pigment needs to be painted too thick, otherwise it will feel hard and uncomfortable to wear and wash.

Just replace the baking tray with a plate. Remember to wash it after painting.

Think before you start writing. Where and in the middle should the pattern be drawn? Or left and right? You'd better put it on and show it to the mirror. Make some marks with a pen.

4. Fixing agent: sold together with textile pigments. Add a little fixative to the paint to make it look better on cotton cloth and other objects. This depends on personal preference. I don't think it's necessary.

5. Hair dryer: Be sure to dry the paint with a hair dryer. It won't wash off. If the paint is allowed to dry naturally, some colors will fade easily.

The first time I drew a T-shirt, I was afraid of damaging my beloved clothes. When I was writing, my hands were shaking and I drew many lines. Moreover, I don't know much about the properties of pigments, and some places are too dry and appear white; Some places are too wet and dirty. The effect is naturally lackluster.

Therefore, it is recommended to try with waste clothes first.

When drawing, be sure to put magazines in the interlayer of the clothes, or the whole clothes will be finished:)

Wearing your own T-shirt will make you feel good. When the painted olefin pigment is thin, it will fade when washed with water.

Punctually painted T-shirt pigments should be special pigments for textiles. Expensive is expensive, but the quantity is relatively large, which is very suitable for opening a shop and convenient to operate.

Textile pigments are the same as watercolor pigments painted on paper. You can draw directly on the textile by gently squeezing the pen tube (if it is a good pigment, the pen tube can draw a cup easily like a needle tube), or you can squeeze out the pigment and then use strokes. After painting, be sure to dry the paint with a hair dryer. It's the only way to wash it off. If the pigment is allowed to dry naturally, some colors will fade easily.

Disadvantages: you can't change it after painting. You can only deepen the color on the basis of the original painting.

The advantages are as follows: 1 is a water-based pigment which can be mixed with water; 2. The export products are confirmed to be non-toxic and have no side effects through strict inspection; It is best to paint on white textiles, but it is difficult to paint on dark textiles. 4 can be applied to any fiber textile at will, 5 colors do not spread, 6 colors do not crack, 7 clothes do not fade after washing, and 8 colors are bright and dazzling.

If it is hand-painted, it can be sprayed with a tool similar to a shower. Students in the Academy of Fine Arts scrape barbed wire with old toothbrushes. If you are a master painter, buy an oily watercolor pen to draw directly, which has the effect of street comics!

Graffiti on shoes

Take canvas shoes for example, we usually paint them with acrylic pigments and pine orange oil paintings, which are not easy to fade and are very cheap. We can also use special textile pigments, such as Shanghai Mali brand textile pigments, or textile markers, and other special textile pigments, such as foaming pigments, flashing pigments, pearlescent pigments, fluorescent pigments, etc., to achieve special effects.
