Taishan Temple is located in Jiangyuan Lane in Taiyuan. In the Ming Dynasty, there was an ancient temple on the west side of Jiangyuan Lane, commonly known as Taishan Temple, which was renamed Zhonghe Market in the late Qing Dynasty. The second market is located on the north side of the eastern section of Chonglou Street, north-south, south of Heilou Street, north to the tea garden, 113 meters long and 5 meters wide. It is paved with asphalt and can be used by small and medium-sized vehicles. On both sides of the old-style tiled houses, there are Liu Xiang Street Office, Liu Xiang police station, the second market grain store, hotel processing department, sporting goods stores. It is a commercial area under the jurisdiction of the Liuxiang neighborhood committee.
The origin of Taishan Temple is related to the emperor's reverence for Taishan. Taishan is also known as "Dongyue Temple" because Taishan is called Dongyue. Before the Qin and Han Dynasties, the ancients believed that Mount Tai was a place where people and gods were connected, and they were in awe of it. During the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Zhuang, Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, named Taishan as the "Emperor of Dongyue", who was in charge of the underworld and the people's life and death. From then on, the god of Taishan became an official in charge of gods and goddesses, personnel, ghosts and gods. According to historical records, from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, 10 emperors such as Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Hu Hai II, Liu Che of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Ji, Emperor Liu You Zuo of the An Emperor, Emperor Li Zhi of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Li Longji of the Xuan Dynasty, Emperor Zhao Huan of the Song Dynasty, and Emperor Ye Xuan of the Qing Dynasty boarded Taishan for a retreat to Zen, which resulted in the prevalence of folk ceremonies honoring the Great Emperor of the East Mountains.
Dongyue Daidi is the god of Mount Tai, which is worshipped by Taoism following folk customs. East Mount Tai is the first of the five mountains. The Complete Book of the Three Religions and Sources of the Search for Gods says: "Mount Tai is the ancestor of all mountains, the ancestor of the Five Mountains, the grandson of the Heavenly Emperor, and the mansion of all the gods!" Before the Qin and Han Dynasties, the ancients regarded Mount Tai as a "dangerous place", a place where people and the sky are connected, especially worship and veneration, known as the God of Mount Tai, that is, Dongyue Da Di. After the Qin and Han Dynasties, the influence of Taishan gradually penetrated into all levels of society and people's daily life, so as the god of yin and yang, the beginning of everything Taishan, on the basis of maintaining the peace and longevity of the country and people, extended to the Lord of the underworld can be recruited, ghost control. From the Tang Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty, many emperors called Dongyue the Heavenly King, the Heavenly King, the Heavenly King, the Divine Heavenly King, H
The date of the founding of the Taishan Temple in Taiyuan cannot be verified. The original site was on the east side of the road, facing south. It was demolished in the early years of the Republic of China (R.O.C.) and rebuilt in the 30th year of the R.O.C. (1941 A.D.) in Ruxi. The temple faces east from the west and is a quadrangle building. There are 26 halls covering an area of 395 square meters. The main hall is divided into upper and lower levels, all of which are five hard-roofed pavilions with a Republic of China stone tablet on the eaves.
The north side of Taishan is the tea garden, Dashui Lane and Wuquan Lane. The ground is small, a few hundred meters east and west, the streets and courtyards are relatively neat. Dashui Alley is a narrow north-south alley where there is a theater garden and more and more people come and go. Especially those Hebei merchants who loved to watch and comment on Peking Opera were the regular visitors of this alley. At that time, there were many Hebei people doing business and handicrafts in Taiyuan. If you ask him where the Meishan Governor's Mansion is, he may not know, but if you ask Dashui Alley, he will give you a clear idea. From the entrance to the bottom of the building, Wuchang Lane passes through a one-meter wide winding alley, and you can reach Taishan Temple from behind the tea plantation. Five Turns Lane is surprisingly narrow! It doesn't run minibuses, so fat people have to be even more careful when crossing the lane for fear of the walls on either side rubbing against their skin. There are five sharp turns, so it is called "five-turn lane".
The Taishan Temple is not big in the east, west, south, north and south, occupying only a quarter of the edge of the sea. Why is it so famous? First, located in the center of Taiyuan, the traffic is extremely convenient. Second, the east of Liu Xiang, the south of Chonglou Street, are bustling business district. Another reason why Taishan is famous is that there was once a famous little theater. This small theater is so exquisite that it is hard to get on the small stage here without being famous and becoming a star. People who are usually famous by Hai Zi and Huakai City can show off their skills at Taishan Temple. Such as the famous Jin opera performers and Ding, before mounting the Taishan Temple stage, had followed their master Sun to the field to sing a small fame.
Sometimes, Ding Goxian and his fellow ticket holders sang along the streets of Kaifa Temple, where he wore no costume and sang only an oratorio with an erhu. When he performs at Taishan Temple, however, he puts on his costume and boots and sings earnestly. Although the theater at Taishan Temple was small, it was a blessed place for Ding Guo Xian. With the music of Jin opera, it was here that her great opera was sung.
