Why is it easy for foreign singers to become popular in China but not for Chinese singers to become popular in foreign countries?

I think there are three factors.

First: the popularity of English in recent years, from children to middle-aged and old people are learning English, the popularity of the language is easily affected by language-related influences, such as songs. Suppose you can't understand a song, just kinda melody, I don't think it will have such a big effect. Listening to songs is also a form of relaxation and learning in itself.

Secondly, there are a lot of good songs in China that are directly written from foreign scores, and there are many styles that are borrowed from other people, such as some of Jay Chou's tunes, some hip-hop, and Chinese style songs that are influenced by RAP, even though the words are Chinese style. Overall, Chinese songs teach tradition and are more realistic, while foreign songs are more spirited.

Thirdly, the economy determines everything. If China becomes the number one powerhouse one day, it will form a kind of centripetal force, and foreigners will of course learn and listen to it.
