? One of the legends of Double Ninth Festival: Princess Chongyang?

The double ninth festival culture has a history of two or three thousand years, and there are many folk legends circulating in Xixia. Among them, the legend of Princess Chongyang is the most widespread and influential.

According to Hanshu, during the reign of Emperor An of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the pregnant Li Niangniang was harmed by the Yan family and fled to Chongyang Store at the south foot of Funiu Mountain, west of Luoyang. On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, a girl was born, named Chongyang girl. Who knows that one autumn, there was a great plague here, and the people in the village and Queen Li were not spared. Li told Chongyang about his life before he died. After the death of Queen Li, Chongyang women went around learning from teachers, determined to kill athel Loren and avenge their mother. A Taoist priest was moved by her spirit, taught fencing carefully, and revealed the four weaknesses of the plague demon: one was afraid of red, the other was afraid of wine, the third was afraid of stimulating smell, and the fourth was afraid of loud noise, so that when the plague demon appeared again on September 9 next year, Miss Chongyang would act according to circumstances to kill people.

On September 9th of the following year, people near Chongyang Women's Organization boarded Yun Yun. Women wear red dogwood on their heads. The fruit of dogwood is red and the leaves give off a strange smell. When the men were drinking chrysanthemum wine, the god of plague appeared and shouted in unison, "Get rid of the god of plague, and the world will be peaceful." When athel Loren saw red, smelled alcohol and strange smell, heard shouts and huddled up, Chongyang woman stabbed athel Loren to death with a sword. Since then, the people of Chongyang Store have lived and worked in peace, health and longevity.

The local people built the Chongyang Taoist Temple for Princess Chongyang. Because the ninth day of September is the Double Ninth Festival, people call this day "Double Ninth Festival" and come to worship it every year.

? Legend of the Double Ninth Festival (II): Did Huan Jing exterminate the plague demon?

According to legend, during the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a man named Huan Jing in runan county. His family consists of six people, including parents, wife and children. He planted several acres and lived a decent life. Plague often occurs on both sides of the Ruhe River, killing many people. Huan Jing heard that there was a plague demon in Ruhe River, which spread the plague ashore every year, so he decided to find a way to kill the people.

Huan Jing found that in the distant mountains, there was a big fairy with a long room. He is skilled in martial arts and can destroy the cunning plague demon. He immediately packed his bags and went to visit the gods in the mountains. Huan Jing went over mountains and mountains, but he still couldn't find Daxian. He was very disappointed. Suddenly I saw a white dove parked there and kept nodding to him. Huan Jing followed the white dove to the "Extraordinary Square Xianju". Huan Jing saw that the temple door was closed and shouted for a long time, but no one answered. To show sincerity, he knelt outside the temple gate.

He knelt for two days and nights, waiting for the door to open. On the third morning, the door suddenly creaked open. I saw an old man with a white beard floating on his chest and said to him with a smile, "Huan Jing, I am very touched by your enthusiasm for eliminating pesticides for the people." Stand up and go into the yard! "Fei Changfang accepted Huan Jing as a disciple and taught him martial arts. He studies hard every morning and evening and develops a good martial arts.

One day, the master said to Huan Jing, "You have learned about martial arts. I will give you a dragon sword to subdue the devil. Go home! " ! On the ninth day of September this year, Mo Wen will go ashore again. You call the villagers to the mountain, give them a dogwood leaf, and give them a sip of chrysanthemum wine, so that the plague demon will not dare to go near them. Fight him to the death! "After eating, Daxian gave him a pack of dogwood leaves and an altar of chrysanthemum wine. Then with a little finger, a crane stopped on the pine and cypress flew over and let Huan Jing ride back to his hometown in Runan.

On the ninth day of September, the Ruhe River churned and roared, and the whirlwind blew dark. The god of plague emerged from the river and saw that there was no one in the village, so he chased the crowd on the mountain. Suddenly, he was stung by alcohol, and the smell of dogwood choked his throat, afraid to go near the crowd. He turned back to the village and saw a man sitting in the house drinking. That man is Huan Jing. Wen Yao yelled and turned to Huan Jing. Huan Jing unhurriedly pulled out the Qinglong sword and fought for more than ten rounds. The plague demon couldn't fight Huan Jing, and was trying to escape when he was stabbed to death by Huan Jing. The villagers heard that Huan Jing had killed the god of plague, and ran home from the mountain in succession, cheering around Huan Jing to thank humbly.

Since then, every year on this day, people have to hold activities to commemorate Huanjing's elimination of plague demons and the elimination of pesticides for the people. Because the ninth day of September is the Double Ninth Festival, people call it Double Ninth Festival.

? Legend of Double Ninth Festival III: Legend of Mount Li?

Legend has it that a long time ago, there lived a peasant family at the foot of Mount Li. The whole family is very diligent and has a good life. ? One day, the master came back from other places and met a fortune teller on the road. Because it's getting dark, this gentleman hasn't found a place to rest. Because the owner's house is very narrow, there is only one thatched ovary, so I made a thatched shop in the kitchen, let my wife and children sleep on the thatched shop, and I slept on the kang with Mr. Zhugua, making do with it. ?

At dawn the next day, Mr. Pig melon will leave. The farmer woke up his wife, cooked a meal for Mr. Zhu and wrapped a bag of white steamed bread for Mr. Zhu. Mr. Shugua went out and looked at the banker's place, urging him to say, "By September 9, the whole family will be tall." The peasant family thought, I didn't do anything strange on weekdays, and I didn't want to be promoted. What should I do in a higher place? But on second thought, people often say that fortune tellers can read Feng Shui and are proficient in astronomy. Maybe something will happen where I live.

On September 9th, we went for a walk in a high place to show the whole family the scenery. ? On September 9, farmers took their wives and children, carrying flowers, cakes and wine, and climbed to the top of Mount Li to play. After they went up the mountain, a spring suddenly rushed to his house halfway up the mountain and washed away his hut at once. It didn't take much effort, and the whole ravine was soaked. Only then did the peasant family understand why Mr. Zhugua asked his family to climb the mountain on September 9. ?

? After the news spread, people helped the old and took the young to climb the mountain on September 9 of the summer calendar every year. Because the ninth day of September is also the Double Ninth Festival, people call this day "Double Ninth Festival".

Second,? The custom of Double Ninth Festival?

? One of the customs of Double Ninth Festival: Flying kites?

Flying kites is one of the main customs of the Double Ninth Festival in southern China. The folk Double Ninth Festival is characterized by flying kites. Guangxu's "Huizhou Fuzhi" is also recorded. In the folk tradition, besides climbing mountains, flying kites is also a major feature of the Double Ninth Festival. As for why people fly kites (kites) on the Double Ninth Festival, apart from the climatic reasons that the sky is high and the clouds are light, and the wind is light and bright, paper kites can easily ride the wind, and there are some sayings that are between wizards and witches, which are quite interesting inadvertently.

According to legend, flying kites on the Double Ninth Festival is for "bad luck". The higher a kite flies, the more bad luck it takes away. What's more, to make the kite disappear, you need to disconnect it specially. Another explanation is that flying kites in Chongyang is "auspicious" and "lucky". The better the kite flies, the more blessed it is. People who fly kites not only can't break the silk thread, but also must do everything possible to protect it, because when the silk thread is broken, "auspiciousness" and "luck" will also drift away.

? The second custom of Double Ninth Festival: basking in autumn?

"Sunbathing in autumn" is a typical agricultural custom phenomenon with strong regional characteristics. In some places, the annual Double Ninth Festival also began to enter the autumn dry season, and a grand autumn dry festival was held.

The Double Ninth Festival is the best time to enjoy autumn, and some mountain villages in the south of China still retain the characteristics of "basking in autumn". "Sunbathing in autumn" is a typical agricultural custom phenomenon. Villagers in mountainous areas have to use the roofs and windowsills in front of and behind their houses to hang crops, because their villages have complex terrain and few flat land.

For people living in mountainous areas, the terrain here is very complicated. Even in inhabited villages, there is little flat land. If you are drying crops, you can only make full use of the front and back of the house, or the windowsill and roof of your own house. After a long time, very traditional agricultural customs have naturally formed. Generally speaking, the Double Ninth Festival refers to villagers drying crops, which is a special life scene and way. Later, under the works of photographers and painters, sunbathing in autumn became a rich source of their materials, and they also called this agricultural custom poetic, that is, sunbathing in autumn.

However, it should be reminded that the autumn in the sun does not mean autumn, but refers to the harvested fruits and crops. In fact, the traditional agricultural custom of sunbathing exists not only in autumn, but also all year round. It's just that autumn is a harvest season, there are more kinds of crops, and the scope and scale of sunbathing in autumn are richer and larger, so it attracts people's attention more.

No matter what kind of statement it originated from, or the combination of various statements, the Dragon Boat Festival has entrusted people with the desire to welcome blessings and avoid disasters. The Double Ninth Festival is a beautiful festival, which has spread to this day and added the connotation of respecting the elderly. Climbing mountains and enjoying autumn and giving thanks and respecting the elderly are two important themes of today's Double Ninth Festival.
