Is urea used for power desulfurization and denitrification?
SNCR system is a chemical process of removing nitrogen oxides from flue gas with reducing agent. In the process of SNCR denitrification, the reducing agent is usually urea aqueous solution, ammonia water or gaseous ammonia, which is directly injected into the hot flue gas of the boiler to react with nitrogen oxides to generate nitrogen and water vapor. The reaction needs no catalyst, but it needs to be carried out at high temperature.
Denitrification with urea is reliable. Although the investment cost is more expensive than liquid ammonia, it occupies a small area and has high safety. It is especially suitable for renovation projects and urban power plants.
From the perspective of safety, urea scheme has always been the first choice, and its investment is higher than that of liquid ammonia.
That's quite high.
