What is the it industry?

Information technology industry, also known as information industry, is an industry that uses information means and technologies to collect, sort out, store and transmit information and intelligence, provide information services, and provide corresponding information means, information technology and other services. Information technology industry includes: industrial departments engaged in information production, circulation and sales and providing services by using information.

The information technology industry mainly includes three industry departments:

① Information processing and service industry is characterized by using modern computer systems to collect, process, sort out and store information and provide various information services for computer centers, information centers, consulting companies and other industries.

(2) The information processing equipment industry is characterized by engaging in research and production of electronic computers (including hardware manufacturing of related machines) and computer software development. Computer manufacturing companies and software development companies can be counted as this industry.

(3) Information transmission intermediary industry, which is characterized by using modern information transmission intermediary to deliver information to the destination timely, accurately and completely. So printing, publishing, news broadcasting, communication, post and telecommunications, and advertising can all be included.

Information industry can be divided into primary information industry and secondary information industry. The former includes traditional goods and services to transmit information and intelligence, while the latter refers to services provided to internal consumers such as governments, enterprises and individuals.
