What are the characteristics of LED light source?

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are a new type of light source for indoor lighting, often used in video cassette recorders (VCRs) and automobile dashboards, and have a lifespan of up to 100,000 h. LEDs do not have filaments, so they do not generate heat or burn out. Most of the electricity is converted directly into light energy, which effectively reduces the need for electricity.

LEDs are also smaller in size, and because of their relatively low light output, a large number of LED light sources are usually grouped together in a larger bubble in indoor applications.

The light emitted by LEDs is commonly amber, blue, green, red, and cool white, and can also be color-changing using combinations of different colors, though it requires the cooperation of a lighting control system.

LEDs are often used for decorative lighting or to emphasize variations in graphic design, such as steps, counters, and the edges of light fixtures.
