China Folk Artists Association Wuyang Peasant Painting
After experiencing the low tide of Wuyang peasant painting in 10, some local painting school leaders began to rethink the way out of peasant painting. From May 65438 to May 5, led by Lian Ruiqing, president of Wuyang Peasant Painting Academy, dozens of local peasant painters were convened to form a creative backbone training class, which was regularly trained every month. At the same time, Zhang Yaoxian, Wang Wenhao and other founders of Wuyang peasant painting were invited to tell and describe the origin, development process, future development direction and blueprint of this painting for future generations. From this, we may have a clearer understanding of Wuyang peasant painting, a wonderful artistic work with regional characteristics.
Wuyang peasant painting came into being in the frenzied Great Leap Forward era 1958. In order to cooperate with the production movement at that time, the upsurge of murals rose all over the country, and the slogan "Everyone is a poet and everyone is a painter" was all the rage. At that time, farmers held hoes in one hand and brushes in the other, expressing their yearning and longing for a better life with the simplest patterns. This makes the paintings at that time generally have traces of utopian fantasy and political utility, and at the same time, they have a distinct romantic color, expressing the courage and strength of human beings to transform nature. In the form of creation, comic exaggeration is often used. As this is a national sport, many artists like it. "Poetry and painting all over the wall" is the best proof.
In the 1960s, some outstanding artists came to the fore. They turned wall-based murals into paper-based art forms, and peasant paintings, a new art form, began to sprout and grow. The theme of painting has also changed from "bumper harvest" to real life in rural areas, such as picking cotton and drilling wells. Because the authors of these works are farmers, the name of "peasant painting" comes from this, which means "peasant painting"-the painting style is simple and has the fragrance of earth.
