What are the components of an information system?

Information system is a man-machine integrated system, which is composed of computer hardware, network and communication equipment, computer software, information resources, information users and rules and regulations.

There are five basic functions, namely, information input, storage, processing, output and control. Information system has experienced three stages: simple data processing information system, isolated business management information system and integrated intelligent information system.

The function of information system is somewhat different from other systems. It does not engage in specific physical work, but it is related to overall coordination.
