The idea of opening a traditional Li sports class came from the "study of tropical sports tourism resources in Hainan's Li ethnic area" that Song Jingmin did nine years ago.

The subject team sorted out 52 traditional Li sports projects in Hainan. However, so many programs, it is impossible to bring them all to the university physical education classroom, and, in addition, some of the programs are affected by the venue and other conditions, classroom teaching constraints.

Song Jingmin and the subject team of 52 projects "carefully selected", selected jumping bamboo poles, chicken ball, playing the dog back to the slope, paddling canoes and other projects, began 11 Li traditional sports boutique program teaching experiments.

Unlike common basketball, swimming, running and other sports courses, the first hurdle to overcome in bringing traditional Li sports to the classroom is the "equipment hurdle".
