What is the difference between a hatchback and a sedan?

The difference between hatchback and sedan:

Difference 1: Structural difference. The difference between a hatchback and a car is that the engine compartment, passenger compartment and luggage compartment of a car are completely separated. The luggage compartment is not only to store luggage, but also to reduce the injury caused by rear-end collision. Common cars are mostly sedan cars. The hatchback extends the passenger compartment backwards and is integrated with the luggage compartment. There is an independent engine compartment at the front, just like a car, but the back door of the hatchback has a big opening at the back, so the hatchback has the characteristics of flexible use and wide use. The rear seats of hatchbacks can usually be folded or even laid flat on the floor, and the luggage can greatly exceed the capacity of sedan cars to carry large objects.

Difference 2: Use distinction. The difference between hatchbacks and sedan cars is that hatchbacks are mostly more flexible and occupy less space than sedan cars. The sedan can have more cargo space, but the fuel consumption increases, and the flexibility is not as good as that of the hatchback under the crowded road conditions in the city.

Difference 3: driving safety distinction. The extra rear compartment of a car can enhance the energy absorption protection of the car body against rear-end collision, reduce the injury probability of rear-row members in the event of violent rear-end collision, and reduce unnecessary injuries. The rear view of the hatchback is good, because the lower edge of the rear windshield is usually basically flush with the rear of the car, so it is easy to grasp the rear distance when reversing.

Difference 4: hatchbacks generally have rear wipers. When the rear window is polluted in rainy days, you can get a clear rear view by turning on the wiper. However, due to structural restrictions, sedan cars can't be equipped with a rear wiper, so it is impossible to accurately judge the road conditions at the rear.
