Method for refining salt

Salt refining methods: drying in the sun, boiling salt, freezing, electrolysis and vacuum salt making.

1, drying method

Also known as evaporation, it is the oldest salt-making method in human history. The crystal left by evaporation under direct sunlight can be applied to sea salt, lake salt and pond salt.

2. Boiling salt method

Also known as frying, it is a method of making salt by evaporating and concentrating brine with firepower. Its forms are stone pot, frying pan and steam.

3. Solidification method

Freezing is a salt-making method that uses water molecules to solidify into solid ice without combining the characteristics of other ions. Mainly used in cold countries. This method is to freeze the salt solution, separate out chloride ions and sodium ions to form brine, and then freeze it several times to crystallize it into salt.

4. Electrolysis

Electrolysis, also known as "ion exchange membrane method", is a salt-making method that uses ion exchange electrodialysis device to make sodium chloride in seawater into brine, and then makes salt crystals through multiple processes.

5, vacuum salt making method

Modern salt making is based on "vacuum salt making" technology. Pure brine is injected into the evaporation tank, and high-temperature steam heats the brine through heat exchange to evaporate the water in the brine. Based on the principle of reducing the boiling point of liquid at low pressure, the method of reducing the pressure in the evaporation tank is adopted to reduce the heat energy consumption and make the salt crystallize as soon as possible.
