Zhanggong district culture
Originally known as Ganzhou Opera, Donghe Opera in Ganzhou is called Donghe Opera because its birthplace and main popular area are Donghe (Gongjiang) basin. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, there was a kind of singing story with high tune in the areas of Egret, Tiancun and Laotian in Ganxian County, which was the embryonic form of Donghe Opera. The establishment of these two class clubs marked the beginning of the formation of China traditional opera with Gao Kun as its main theme.
