Foundation of China Charity Day

China Charity Day was established in accordance with the Charity Law of the People's Republic of China.

According to the law, September 5th every year is designated as China Charity Day. Charity Law is the national law of People's Republic of China (PRC), which was promulgated on March 20 19 16, establishing the legal status of charity day and related charity activities.

The establishment of China Charity Day aims at promoting the development of social charity, encouraging more people to participate in charity activities and promoting the progress of social charity. Every year, China Charity Day has a specific theme to guide charity activities to focus on specific areas, such as rural revitalization.

The enactment of this law and the establishment of China Charity Day show that the China government attaches importance to charity, aiming at advocating the spread of social love and charity spirit, so as to better meet the charity needs of society and promote the harmonious development of society.

The Legislative Purpose of China Charity Law

First, respect charity will, protect charity enthusiasm, cultivate charity consciousness, standardize charity behavior, promote the diversified development of charity, and meet the expectations of society for charity legislation. Charity law needs more space and ability and more enlightened policies and measures than the current legislation on NGO management, so as to match a charitable society with a charitable tradition and a brilliant future. This requires legislators to have a deeper insight into the development of society, a sense of mission, courage and wisdom.

Second, establish a charity legal framework and a perfect charity legal system through legislation. Charity needs legal orientation, and a pluralistic and harmonious society cannot be separated from such a charity legal framework to accommodate healthy charity ideals, free charity creation and sincere charity efforts; With such a charity legal framework, the charity power of society can be relied on and used.

Third, ensure the public welfare of charities and enhance their credibility. As a non-governmental organization with the most prominent public welfare characteristics, charitable organizations undertake public welfare missions, enjoy preferential policies, pool public resources and win social reputation. Such a typical non-profit organization should be responsible to the country, society, donors and beneficiaries.

This requires the law to set up specific systems and mechanisms to ensure that charities can develop along the right track, and charities should not be allowed to become puppets of power, slaves of money, or even tools of crime.
